Sandy asks…

how can i naturally stop SEVERE panic attacks ? HELP?

i am 20now but the past 4-5 years ive been suffering from horrible panic attacks and they just keep getting worse as i get older. At first i was always feeling like i was having a heart attack or i was goin to die. now its so bad i cant be in a room with the light off, or home alone, i cant walk alone because i feel like someone is following me. i cant get behind the wheel of a car without freaking out and i always feel like something terrible is about to happen and i physically get sick from the stress. i no longer have health insurance so i cannot get my ativan or xanex. so i was wondering if there is any herbal remedy or ANYTHING that can help me. Its really taking a toll on my life and relationships.
I DONT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE !

so a doctor is out of question that is why i am hoping someone has a suggestion

Ruth asks…

How Can I Naturally Stop a Panic Attack?

I am taking a 3 hour flight in the next 2 days and the last time I took this same flight I had a panic attack when we landed. Just thinking about it now makes me feel like I’m going to have another one.

Is there any way I can stop myself from having one naturally without medication? I find deep breathing just makes me feel worse, almost like I’m hyperventilating.

I think it relates to the claustrophobic feeling I get being surrounded by so many people in such a confined space and when we land and the air conditioning is switched off the air completely changes. I feel like I’m going to vomit just writing this. Somebody please help!!!
I’m not totally opposed to medication but I’m worried it will make me behave differently. It is a work trip and I am travelling not only with my boss but about 15 of my colleagues. How would a medication like valium be likely to make me act/react?

Best comment response:

You need medication, a large dose of valium before and during the flight, dont be too proud or stubborn to take it

the deep breathing should be done slowly

Laura asks…

How do you stop anxiety, worry, and panic attacks without a prescription?

I freak out over basically everything. I have so much stress and worry and it throws me into panic mode. I really don’t want to be prescribed anything, so how do I stop naturally??

Best comment response:

Read Martin Sodomskys’ book: “How to Slay the Worry Monster”.

Maria asks…

How do you naturally deal with panic/anxiety attacks?

I’ve had panic attacks or anxiety attacks recently. For a while they went away, but now they seem to be back. I’ve had two in the last 4 days. My wife told me I woke up screaming one night and the other I woke up and my heart was racing and I felt like I was going to die. I was tested for heart problems a year ago, but they didn’t come back with anything. My doctor prescribed me with Toprol when I had those problems a year ago, but it didn’t seem to help. Is there anything I can do naturally to stop this? My wife says that I worry too much. I think life is overwhelming. It seems like nothing is safe(e.g. Most food has artery clogging trans-fat in it, the water is tainted with chlorine, metals and who knows what else and Milk has hormones and anti-biotics added to it) and most people are heartless.

I was on all kinds of medicine and I hated taking the stuff cause I could never remember it so I tried counting to 20 cause 10 wasn’t long enough and just told myself what ever happens God will take care of it. If it wasn’t meant to be so be it. He has helped me so much!!! When u feel yourself getting frustrated talk to him and he will get u thru it.
I was in a wreck at 14 and suffered a head injury where they told my mom I would be a vetetable and not function normally again which they were partially right. I can wwalk and talk with some difficulty but they kept me alive which I don’t know why. He wasn’t ready for me yet I keep telling myself.

Jenny asks…

anxiety and panic?

how can stop that nausea feeling in my stomach when i get anxiety? is there a way to stop a panic attack naturally

Best comment response:

Hi Suzanne

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

Cause
Anxiety disorders occur in people of all ages, but appear to be more common among women. The occurrence of an anxiety or panic attack is often unpredictable, but it may be associated with certain situations such as driving a car. The exact cause is complex, involving constitutional factors, emotional stress, biochemical imbalances, and environmental triggers. In women, hormone imbalances can cause anxiety. Therefore, hormone assessment is essential. Amino and fatty acid imbalances can also play an important role in triggering anxiety attacks.

Natural Cures

Diet: Assess your diet to reduce excessive consumption of stressor foods such as refined sugars, honey, maple syrup, or cow`s milk products. Consume vegetable soups, broths, and a wide variety of green and yellow vegetables. Add more complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, beans, seeds, and nuts. Also be sure to drink up to a gallon of filtered water a day.

Flower Essences: Flower essences can prove very helpful in managing and helping to eliminate anxiety. Use Aspen for apprehension, foreboding, and fear of unknown origin while Mimulus is for fear of known things, shyness, and timidity. Red chestnut is used for excessive anxiety and over caring for others. Rescue Remedy® (combination formula) is for general stress from anxiety, and Rock Rose is helpful for coping with terror and panic from known fear.

Herbs: Panax ginseng has a tonic effect on the adrenal glands, improving blood flow to the brain and reducing the stress associated with mental/emotional issues. Valerian root, an herbal tranquilizer and muscle relaxant, is another good agent for calming the nervous system. It helps balance mood swings and is not habit forming. Valerian-hops combination formulas are good daytime sedatives because they don`t interfere with reflex actions. Passionflower is another mild sedative that helps reduce anxiety, high blood pressure, nervous tension, and muscle tension, and encourages deep, restful sleep. St. John’s wort, a highly popular remedy for depression, has proven effective for anxiety and mood swings as well.

Homeopathy: Aconite, Actaea rac., Drosera, Calc carb., and Sulfur are all useful homeopathic remedies for dealing with anxiety.

Hypnotherapy: Self-hypnosis helps to impart to the mind imagery designed to bring about deep levels of relaxation.

Meditation: Develops the mind`s ability to stop anxiety at its source.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following supplements have all been shown to help reduce feelings of anxiety by calming the nervous system: calcium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, 5-HTP, pantothenic acid, and adrenal and kidney glandulars. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), an amino acid, can also affect mood by increasing levels of the brain neurotransmitter serotonin (a mood regulator).

Alternative Professional Care
If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating and relieving the symptoms of anxiety: Acupressure, Biofeedback Training, Bodywork (especially Massage Therapy), Environmental Medicine, Guided Imagery, Hypnotherapy, Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Orthomolecular Medicine (for a self-care approach, we recommend the book The Mood Cure by Julia Ross), Qigong, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Yoga.

Best of health to you
